It’s nice to get nice reviews

We’re starting to get into the groove and people are starting to say nice things. We’ve still got a long way to go but it’s nice to know we’re heading in the right direction.

“Wowzer – Toasties and Salads to drown in”

5 of 5 stars. I’ve been walking past for a few weeks, don’t know why it took me so long. Great looking modern cafe with ample tables and nicely decorated (even the toilets are lush). The breakfast menu looked scrumptious with toasted sour dough bread etc. Lunch offers exciting salads and toasted sarnies with some exciting choices, blended with all the favourites. I shared The Works – a toasties packed with pastrami and pickles along with a better than sex feta, grape and walnut salad – true perfection. Sarnies are from £5-7, my salad was £6 – you can add sides like coleslaw for only 50p – love the prices, love the quality of ingredients, I absolutely love the place. It’s like a trendy London locals hang out for half the price in the heart of Norwich.”Fabulous food…”5 of 5 stars. 4th visit in the last 2 months & never disappointed; very tasty toasties! Gradually working our way through the menu!

“Delicious and Wonderful Food, Attentive Customer Service”5 of 5 stars. The food is perfectly delicious and the customer service is first class, top-notch, attentive and keen. The restaurant is clean, tidy, decor is stylish, modern and yet homely”The Best Bread in Norwich”

5 of 5 stars. They have very very good bread which we would recommend to everyone. We have visited 3 times and each time it is better. ‘Just’ bread is great, but their toast and coffee is a wonderful way to start a day. and their lunch Toasties are great. Having tried most of their range of Sourdough breads we can’t get enough.”Outstanding”

5 of 5 stars. Visited this lovely addition to Norwich to buy gluten free vegan bread for my Daughter. I was impressed with the warm welcome, and can-do attitude of the owner. He very kindly sliced both loaves, AND put them into bags ready for freezing. No problem. Great breakfast toastie and beautiful coffee. A real treat Thank you and well done”Simply Fantastic in every sense”

5 of 5 stars. Everything about this place is brilliant – the décor, staff, choice of breads and the smell is mouth watering. We tried sour dough toast which was delicious, plus croissants which were just as good. The menu looks really interesting and can’t wait to work my way through each and every item. The flat white coffees were also superb. A great find and they deserve to do really well.”Fantastic bakery, a great find!”5 of 5 stars Visited this bakery for breakfast after reading a great review in the Golden Guide.. and it did not disappoint! Excellent food, coffee and staff who went out of their way to be helpful. The bakery is clean and stylish in its design with a very reasonably priced menu. We tried the apricot and raisin loaf and will definitely be going back for more. The Timberhill Bakery team deserve to do very well!”Excellent stop-off place for coffee – real bread and good service”

5 of 5 stars. Try the bread, cooked on the premises by someone who obviously really cares about getting it right and it shows – hope its there for many years”Absolutely delicious lunch!”

5 of 5 stars. I am so happy to have the Timberhill Bakery just around the corner from my office. (Note to avoid disappointment: it’s closed on Mondays). It is a fantastic place for lunch. The menu isn’t long but everything I have eaten here has been delicious. Simple ingredients but interesting combinations and everything just really well done. There are really good options for vegetarians and vegans too. (I’m neither but I shared a vegan platter with my daughter – we both loved it.) And then of course there’s the bread. The other reviewers are right. It is incredible! Buy a loaf to take home. Honestly, the sourdough makes the best toast I have ever eaten.

 “Just stunningly good bread”

5 of 5 stars If we lived on the Clanger’s Little Blue Planet, then these guys would be the Bread Dragons and all would be well with the world.

“A little slice of pleasure!”

5 of 5 stars Even the gluten intolerance in me (or is it just intolerance?!) loves the choices here! The staff are SO enthusiastic and knowledgeable and the products so fresh, please don’t walk down Timberhill without trying any/all of the wares on offer!

“Excellent bread”

5 of 5 stars Fabulous bakery in the centre of Norwich. Wonderful coffee by people who take their coffee as seriously as their bread. Amongst wholly yummy sourdoughs, there is also the best GF bread I’ve tasted in the UK (and being a coeliac who used to be fanatical about bread and yearns for it, I’ve tested a whole lot). Check out website for the times that the various loaves come out of the oven (GF only one day a week thus far), and be sure to stay awhile to have a coffee/ cake/ bread and jam/ open sandwich…

“Such good bread & coffee!”

5 of 5 stars Took my husband back after trying a coffee a couple of days earlier as it was so good. Liking strong flavourful coffee, it hit the spot.. As I love bread and generally make my own I was delighted to find a proper baker in Norwich. OK, maybe there are others but I seldom go to Norwich so can’t comment on their quality. My chap had a delicious toastie. The bread was so good. And he rated the coffee too, (high praise as he’s rather fussy). Great to know there is a place we can go to in town with real coffee and fantastic bread. Every success to them.

“Simply Delicious”

5 of 5 stars It’s unusual for me to write about something as plain as bread.  I’m not sure how long this bakery has been open but I walked passed it on Saturday morning and it caught my attention. It advertises Sour Dough bread which I haven’t tried before but it looked so good (you can see the bread being baked) that I thought I’d give it a try. It was delicious and I thought reasonably priced. They also offer a simple café option that I’ll try next time as the food looked well prepared and fresh. Loved it.

“Brilliant stylish tasty food!”

5 of 5 stars. I am writing this review whilst enjoying some of their chocolate orange cake and I can assure you that you will find it difficult if not impossible to beat this bakery for taste, service and atmosphere.  My girlfriend and I tried their vegan and meaty mezze options for lunch and the quality was very high. They have a wide selection of breads baked instore, such as apricot and raisin or walnut sourdough, and I am looking forward to trying them all, though the limitations of human appetite sadly limit me to one at a time 🙂
